Vintage Miniature Olive Pit sculpture Masterfully hand carved. Lots of detail on each of these 33 beads! Each pit is carved with a Lohan (Arhat) head. Each one is different and some are smiling, some frowning, some have great whiskers and mustaches! They are carved from the pits of the Chinese black olive which has a lovely brown color and is strong, but unfortunately a few of these (1 or 2) have cracks which is not unusual. This unique set is decorated with antique finished sterling silver parts, enameled silver parts and stainless steel chain. Excellent sample of an ancient folk art , in a set ideal for display as part of a good private collection.
